I’m very excited to announce the 2016 Graceland University Percussion Day! We are incredibly blessed to have three outstanding percussion artists and educators joining us on campus for a day of clinics, masterclasses, and concerts! I hope that if you’re in the area you will consider joining us for what promises to be a great day of music making! If you’re interested in joining us for the day, please don’t hesitate to contact me and reserve your spot!
I was extremely happy to be able to present my clinic “Percussive ARTiculation” at the 2015 Iowa Music Educators Association Conference in Ames, IA. It is always a treat to share with music educators from around the state! You can view the slides from my presentation by clicking the link below:
I’m excited to have been invited to perform at the International Computer Music Conference this coming September in Denton, TX! I’ll be performing my good friend, and awesome composer, Eli Fieldsteel‘s Fractus V: Metal Detector, on Tuesday, September 29th, in Voertman Hall at the University of North Texas. In addition, I’ll have an opportunity to visit with percussion students at both UNT and Texas A&M-Commerce while I’m in the area. I’m looking forward to a fantastic trip! I had a great time participating in the 2015 Missouri Day of Percussion at Battle High School in Columbia, MO! Kent Lineberry (MOPAS Chapter President) and his colleagues did an outstanding job putting on a first-class event. I was fortunate to be asked to judge the high school snare drum competition, and I had a great time listening to so many outstanding young percussionists! It’s always great to see that the percussion community in Missouri, my home state, is so strong!
I was extremely fortunate to participate in the 2015 Iowa Day of Percussion, sponsored by the Iowa Chapter of the Percussive Arts Society. During the day I judged the Small Ensemble Competition, presented a clinic on pedagogy with Randy Hogancamp from UNI, and performed with the Graceland Percussion Group. It was a great day, and I can’t wait for next year’s DOP!
I am extremely happy to announce that I am now an Innovative Percussion Artist! I am very excited about this partnership, as I’ve always been impressed by the quality of IP’s products, as well as their commitment to education and the percussion community! I’m looking forward to working with them in the future, and representing such an outstanding company!
A couple years ago I was asked to join the DrumChattr team and contribute a regular column to their site. When that opportunity presented itself, I shifted the majority of my blogging from my own site, “The State of Our Art,” to DrumChattr. At this point, it has been a long time since the last update on my personal blog, but I would like to keep all of those posts available for anyone who may be interested. While the domain name has been disabled, you can still access all of my old posts by clicking HERE. Thanks for reading!
Welcome to the new http://www.adamgroh.com! I’ve updated and streamlined things to allow me to share more information, more effectively. I hope that you enjoy the new site!
